I had my tack stolen at the end of May and i ordered my 2 replacement saddles on the 3rd June. One was a Morris and Nolan 19" GP and it arrived after just 3 weeks, it didn’t fit properly so they made me another new one that arrived in a further 2 weeks and it fit like a glove.

My second saddle, also ordered on the 3rd June, is a Ideal Suzannah 19" Black Dressage saddle. It still hasn’t arrived after what is now 10 weeks. I have called the saddler and he is chasing them but can’t get a straight answer as to when it will arrive.

I am so fed up, i was really looking forward to using it in my first Novice dressage test on Sunday but it looks like i will have to do it in my GP.

Pointless post really just wanted a moan.

That's really bad luck - first you have your tack stolen and then the replacements don't arrive. Poor you

I have an Ideal Jessica and love it. Hope your Suzannah arrives soon

I do appreciate they are made to measure but so was my Morris and Nolan and that took 3 weeks. I know Idea are a big company and brilliant saddles so i expected to wait longer but 10 weeks and still no word of when it is due.

You may be running into the problem that in August a lot of the saddlers shut down for a month or so's holiday - full factory shut down. It's not unusual and really your saddler should have warned you because it is the same time every year!

I could be completely off the mark, but it is a possibility.

Your ideal will be well worth the wait though, I have a roella and a springbok and love them both!

Also Ideal are completly made in the UK which is rare even for made to measure saddles now a days.

" Get out clause - this is what my saddler told me anyway"

The factor has just come back off its 2 week shut down, my saddler was told it would be with us on the 24th July which was there last working day but it never arrived so we had to wait 2 weeks to be able to chase it that was this Monday so if it was nearly ready on the 24th it cant be that much longer cant it ??????

I really am prepared to wait just dont like it.

OMG! Have Ideal dressage being made too (no idea of name just know it was very comfy!). Was told around six weeks- I'm in week five now...
12 weeks! Argggh! Currently have no saddle and no manege so am walking horse out of an evening- how much can they change shape in 12 weeks...? *starts panicing*

Am feeling lots of sympathy for us both BFG!

my friend has just waited for approx 12 weeks for her ideal podhajsky to arrive-apparently the factory that makes the trees has moved hence the delays!! ps i have a suzannah and love it so it will be worth the wait!!

i ordered mine about the same time of year and it took around the same time, my saddler told me they had there factory shut down holiday period so i dont think that helps.

ive got the 1350 GP and really want to start saving for the 1350 roella dressage. lovely saddles, worth the wait.

OMG guess what, i read your post with interest because i have ordered an Ideal, saddler quoted me 5 weeks and it's been 5 weeks today so i rang and said where is it?
Saddler said he would ring and chase and GUESS WHAT it's going to be another 5 'kin weeks.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAaagh i'm mad now cos 5 weeks seemed like a lifetime at the time, saddler was very good and said he understood if i wanted to cancel but i've already waited 5 and that's the saddle i want cos i have another like it but unfortunately doesn't fit new neddy though.
