As above...considering one.....never had an Ideal saddle before.....I do mainly flatwork/hacking but I do jump occasionally and my current saddle is just too straight cut really for jumping and fast work....

....opinions and thoughts please peeps, before I spend money I haven't got on something I dont actually need......

I have one of these for my young horse. I wouldn't pick it for myself, I prefer my L & R because its grippier with a much more secure seat. I only bought it because my horse is changing shape so I wanted second hand and it was the only one that fitted. Its comfy, but I prefer saddles with more definition that hold you in place. I'm not sure it that helps or if it just means I'm fussy.

I loved mine. Had one for a cob I had, when I sold him the lady purchased the saddle too as she liked it so much, she definately wasn't intending to buy the saddle, but gave me £500 for it!
I now have an Ideal Ramsey for my show cob and love that too, it is straighter cut than the VSD.
Would definately recommend Ideal saddles. My Ramsey was made to measure and fits great. It cost no more than one off the shelf. Cob is very hard to fit so I was very happy to find it was 100% when it arrived. Master Saddler took measurements and fitted it for me, she asked Ideal to put in specific things for my horse to make it perfect and it is!

All good stuff peeps......possibly getting one for a good price, if it fits....plus its brown, which I prefer..

......don't want a GP as I do prefer a straighter cut saddle, but much as I love my current saddle and it fits perfectly...its a dressage saddle (older style, without the humungous knee-rolls that they all seem to have these days) and I think I would prefer something for my knee out hacking, if you know what I mean.....

I had an Ideal VSD, and didn't like it! Largly to do with the fact it was badly fitted by saddler and I had trouble with it moving, plus it was far too big for me!!

The saddle itself was nice enough, but if I could choose a saddle it wouldn't be one of those.

I had an ideal VSD for my old cob, it was a great saddle, very comfy and I used to do allsorts in it, jump, flatwork, hack. It fitted my boy well and i never had any problems with it.

I have an Ideal International event VSD and it is the most comfortable saddle I have ever had. It has been used for showing, sponsored rides, XC and SJ and I love it! It is not that forward cut but I have short legs so it is perfect!

I love the Ideal saddles, so much so that I have 2 International Event, 1 VSD and 2 Jessicas for 3 horses. They are very versatile and comfortable and always sit properly on the horses.

I love them

I have a made to measure Ideal International Event, it's the best saddle I've ridden in and it wasn't hugely expensive. I like it so much I'm going to save up for a VSD or Ramsey
