Ideas for field shelter

Does anyone use anything ‘unconventional’ as a field shelter?

I need a shelter for a Shetland that if possible can be moved - it’s only to get him out of the flies, he has a separate permanent stable.

I’ve seen a military 9 x 9 metre canvas tent used with good results, but wondered if anyone uses anything else.

I’d looked at individual ones but decided they were too small. After you posted I looked again and saw a ‘herd’ one which might work. Thank you for the idea!

A shipping container with rubber matting on the floor? Not very pretty to look at but I guess you could clad them?

Next door has a pallet sided shelter, just fence posts rammed in through the pallets. Roof is a 12 ft sheet cut in half.
Their shetland is only 34" and I think the shelter is 6 x 6 or possibly 7 x 7. It has a corral type fence round it to prevent bigger one from rubbing on it. Been there for about 9 years now.

Surely the Shetland will make its own ‘wider doorway’

I made a shelter for my mini with wood out of skips and free pallets bought the ply and roof felt cost me around £150

Ive repurposed an 8x6 garden shed for 2 minis, just cut out the whole side where the window was, strengthened the frame and bobs your Uncle!
