It's my 50th this year (mid August)and to stave off the horror and panic of reaching my half century, I'd like to plan something fun with my boy!

I really wanted to do a TREC camp at the CHAPS adventure place but I can't really do an overnighter as my little shetland will panic on her own.

Their is a transporter here that does regular beach trips, so that might be an option, although it would be a long trip for Bo really.

Their is also a lady that does guided rides in Derbyshire including around the Chatsworth estate which also appeals.

Or shall I just stay home and get drunk!?
?
Any other ideas? I'm on the West Yorkshire/South Yorkshire/Derby border.

You could do a couple days at a horsey B&B to enjoy some new hacking, and maybe a beach ride too. If you can't pony the Shetland alongside your ridden horse, is there a friend/OH who could lead her out with you?

2 hours away is Fraisthorpe beach just South of Bridlington it's 8 miles long and food and drink available and you park close to the beach plan to arrive an hour before low tide. Alternatively not on your own horse, horseback archery, jousting, or contact a trainer about taking a racehorse on the gallops (Barnsley and Doncaster), or try carriage driving, Field farm equestrian near Skegness do beach rides on your horse or theirs and have xc course and overnight accommodation Can you find a companion for the shetland for a day.

Unfortunately, she'd never left her field when I got her (inadvisable pity purchase) so she's pretty scared of most things.

Great ideas there! Actually, I could ask if my neighbour could bring her pony to mine for a day or two to keep the shetland company. That would definitely give me more options.

My friends regularly go to Fraisthorpe with their horses and they love it.
Or there is a place at Whitby that do guided rides and have a camping field

I'd probably try the camp at CHAPS, they would probably help you with some ground work with the mini while you're there ?
