BUT DIDNT FIT !!!!!!!!!!!! aghhhhhhh

I have waited 7 weeks for them but i cant do them up round the calf im so sad

Anyway i need a new riding hat for showjumping - want a nice one can i have some suggestions please???

You know what Stacey, I had exactly the same thing happen with my new De Niro boots - I measured my calf and asked for advice on whether to go for the measurement that was either just 0.5 cm up from my width, or for the next one up which was quite a bit wider - and they told me to go for the tightest as they will stretch.

When they arrived I couldn't get them on, measured them and they were a good cm smaller then I thought they would be. BUT, I persisted (wore them over a pair of tights which was the only thing I could do them up over whilst hoovering my flat etc... even then it felt like the circulation on my leg was being cut off) - and now they fit like a glove. So if there is any chance at all you can get them done up, they will mold to your leg.

Which ones did you get, what colour? I absolutely adore mine! (Well, for that amount of money, I'd expect to!) xx

oh really !! I got the calfskin Caprice ones in Black for shows !!

hmmmmm i just cant get them anywhere near my calves i mean there is a good 2cm gap and i cant get the popper done up at the top either even without the zips done up !!

oooooh maybe i will try that tonight then x

Oooh beautiful! (I have the ones with the twisted zip in Oxford and I ADORE them!)

I had the same as you - I didn't think there would be any way I'd be able to do them up but I managed by prodding my flabby little calves into them with sheer force.

However, if they really don't fit, do measure them - if they are not the size they were meant to be I expect they will take them back. x

You'll have to invest in a pair of boot lasts that you can knock wedges in to slowly stretch your boots.

Although doesn't this defeat the point of made to measure????!

I had the same problem with mine, I ordered a larger size, but the chap on the phone said this would cost more for made to measure, so go for the nearest size down 'off the shelf'. I had to lie on my back with my legs in the air :D to struggle to do them up, then they cut the circulation off and made my legs throb. I wore them about the house for as long as I could bare and used a little 'leather stretch spray', and now they are perfect!
It's worth the effort, just make sure nobody is looking when you try to get them on!

I got a pair of de niro boots 2 weeks ago, but mine are the laced front ones (s something lol) and when I first tried them on (they were size off shelf) I couldnt do up the zip either, but assured that this was meant to happen so I wore them for a few days and now they zip up no problem :)

I think you just need the leather to "Give" a little, it will happen, but you need to fully zip them up and wear them around the house :)

Really ???? Oh ok right i will try again tonight i had even bought the kingsland thin tight sox but did have jods on under them i will try without later !!

Yep they got the the bottom of my calf and wont go any further there was like a 2cm gap all the way up ????

Haha. So undignified. You should have seen me (though I am glad you didn't) trying to do the zip up and getting it stuck in bits of dough-like flesh which I had to sort of prod down into the part of the boot that had already been done up. Sigh. I actually had a blister on my finger where I had pulled the zip so hard. Good job the zips hold up to a lot of pressure.

My mum bought me some Konig Grandgesters for christmas a couple of years ago - i had them measured in the shop. They took 4 months to arrive and when they arrived they didnt fit, so they had to go back to Germany and then took another 3 months to get them back again!

ok now i know that i will yank a bit harder then !!!

right my mission for tonight is to get them on and done up i have called equiport who said i can have them proffessionally stretched though x

oh this thread is funny. my sergio's have decided im too fat to get in them so i know exactly about the finger blisters / no feeling in the foot thing !!!! I had to shut myself away in the lorry to get them on as i had to get in all sorts of dodgy positions, got very red in the face and huffed and puffed alot. By the time i had got on to ride I had to undo them a little to let me legs come back to laugh as i felt like i was going to pass out!!!!! Glad it sounds like they will eventually stretch a bit more though, will stick at it even though my 'zip' fingers are killing me!!!

To save your fingers thread a thin piece of string through the eye of the zip, worked a treat with my boots when they were too tight, got the idea from my teenage years when jeans were so tight you had to use a coat hanger through the zip while lying down to do them up:D
