Ideas For Urgent funds For the Charities

ok, further to another discussion, im willing to put the time and effort in where needed, but apart from donating directley does any one have any ideas on what we could do ..

i was thinking of either an auction or listing items, then other members could pm or reply with what items they wanted, or how about listing things we no longer want and doing an make me an offer!

a couple of things i dont have an answer for......
theres a few charites involved, do we wnat to support them all? *cringes at the thought of giving money to the rspca*

how do we get the money to them?

ebay yes is a good idea but takes time and wed all be getting charged fees, id rather direct the all the funds to the charites.
 
Have you read the drop off points post? As for getting money to them, on-line donations or drop off points are probably the best. I think they need things now.
 
i have, but im guessing this could be a longer running thing, and also its areas closer to the rescues that are mostly covered, as the threads says... others were suggesting things so trying to get ideas... im personally rubbish at thinking!
 
As I said in a previous thread, The Show Ring donates all its subscription money to charity, and over the past few weeks has donated approx £3,000 to a variety of charities (including the ILPH last week, and Redwings and The Horse Trust today). If you belong to an organisation that has money available for charitable donations, then approach them and make suggestions where the money should go. Or join The Show Ring and influence the decision that way!!!
 
sponsord rides are a good idea... theres a letter being drafted up at the moment... make a noise campain, getting permission to ride through towns ect would get the message across aswell,.... a ride was done in my city for a local charity, had police escorts the lot! making it high profile could be well worth the time and trouble
 
Just an idea here, but sponsored rides, auctions etc, are going to take time to organise, but the money to help these horses is needed now.

Would it therefore be feasible to set up a HHO donation site so that forum members can donate money online instantly?

thats what i was thinking, hence listing items we want to sell, ie books things like that, baring posting to the buyer all money could go to the charites,
