little bit of back story ill try and keep brief! had tendoscopy on this leg 3 months ago had fraying of DDFT, SDFT and adhesions in the tendon sheath. 3 months on have just started troting well one short trot. had sacn 3 wks ago and due next one in three wks time. tendon looked as expected on scan and seemed sound on trot up, athough now started tortting not convinced she is pushing off as well on that leg in trans. but she has this lump over suspensory lig this has developed in last couple on months vet concered about it may cause a problem but seem little mistified about it. anyone else seen this before??? suggestions orcomments about it?? it is hard and on scan not attached to lig.

could it be a sort of over-healing process, a bit like proud flesh is? Or fly bite reaction?

I'd be very very very suspicious. Is that leg still massively swollen or just the angle of the photo? The whole area looks abnormal to me

Her annular ligament is very swollen and will be restricting movement. Did your vet recommend a desmotomy? Have they given you a strict return to work fitness plan?

yes it does look abnormal but only really from the back, not massivly swollen think that more angle of photo. it is a hind leg incase not clear as dont think i said. vet is quite conerned about it although seemingly sound. yes we are on strict work plan on 1 hours walking with short trot and in hand grazing. annular lig is not enlarged on scans (?) or at least not last time, at surgry was decided to leave intact as no inflamation at the time. i just keep hoping it might just vanish!!

seems to be back in work quickly??? cold packs and would chuck horse away for 6 months then re start? ask your vet? whats the rush? huge windgall?
