Ideas on which dressage saddle to buy

Hi guys, I am looking to buy a new dressage (possibly leather) saddle. Any recommendations there?? (the softer the better).

I have the albion platinum royale & its super comfy, however I actually prefered the position the Equipe emporio put me in, but it didnt fit my horse. Try as many as you can as what someone else likes, you or your horse may not

Hello Cor,
It really does depend on what type of horse you have & also your own height/build/level of riding etc.
We sell quite a few abroad & always ask for loads of pics of horse & rider, a wither template if poss also helps.
I don't think you will find many retailers of saddles in London. We are an hour away by train & are next to a mainline station if you would like to come & see us. We have Thorowgood, Prestige, Black Country & Ideal in stock that you can sit on. I will pm you our web address.

I owned an Albion SLK and it was to die for, they are made of calf skin not leather so they are really soft.
I had to sell mine after selling my 17.2 and buying my 14.2, sadly no amount of reflocking would have made it fit!
But I fully intend on buying another one once my youngster is ready to do some more serious competing.
Although sadly their only downfall is their price, I paid just over 2k for mine brand new however they really are worth it!

You really need to get a reputable saddler out to advise what saddles would be best suited to both you and your horse.

For example one f my horses is 16.2 and takes either a 6'6" or 6'9" rug yet can only take a 17" saddle as he had such a big front/ shoulder and does not have ,uch length of back. My other 16.6 horse which takes. a 6'6" rug takes an 18" saddle.
