Hi all,
Quick update for those that dont know Lottie.
Lottie is a welsh a cross ???? she is 1 yr and 1 week old.
She stands at 11.3hh measured today.
I bought mum a 12hh Section A and did not know she was in foal so on midsummers day last june Surprise Baby Lottie!!
No idea who daddy was but from her build and shape can only guess a traditional coloured cob.
How big do you you think she will make?? Even a general idea would be good :O)

Well I have a Welsh D yearling who was 12.2hh at 1 year old, she's expected to make 14.2hh and her sire and dam are 14.3hh + 14.2hh.

Traditional coloured cobs are normally between 14-15hh, so presuming thats the height of her Dad, maybe 13.2/13.3hh?
I think there is some kind of measurement you can take that's usually not far off the mark, from the coronet band to the middle of the knee.
Each inch represents a full hand, so if it measures 13 1/2 inches, it equates to 13.2hh - I'm not sure at what age this works though, but I'm sure someone told me its pretty accurate at age 1.

I do hope she does go that big( crossed fingers) I was hoping that she would make at least 13hh, then she could fit in our exercise cart and take over hacking with mum when 28yr old pony has had enough. thanks for the replies.
Anybody else any ideas???
Please

Try using a piece of string to measure from her elbow to the ground then use this piece of string and use it to measure from her elbow upwards, the end of the string should give you an idea as to where her withers may be, hope this makes sense.
