This literally grew overnight.

There was no sign of it yesterday, today two balls. One a lot smaller then the other. They were just big white balls, looked fairly solid so mum kicked them expecting them to just fall off. Instead, they broke down into a kind of slime. The bigger one looks like this now.

Sorry. My phone cam isn't the best!

It was on my wooden stable door. The outside is planks, the inside is just solid wood so none visible on inside but definitely visible on the outside. Weren't there yesterday.

Someone posted similar pictures of their muckheap with weird slime on it the other day - I think it is actually called slime mould.

I've seen some particularly vile examples of horse snot that look like that - could your horse have been sneezing?

I would also guess at something horse has coughed/sneezed up, have seen similar 'jellyfish' that are thick like that

Definitely not magpie poo, the blob was far too large.

As for horse snot.. It's a thought. Again, id have thought the blob before it was kicked off seemed too big, it was larger then tennis ball size and seemed to be coming out between the planks. I also haven't noticed him coughing/sneezing but it a thought and I will keep an eye on him in case. There is a couple of others on the yard with a bit of a runny nose.
