Hi guys,
I'm slightly unsure at how to identify a horses lead leg when it is galloping. Am I correct in saying that the lead leg is the first leg (hind or fore) to strike the ground in every stride? Also, am I correct in saying that a galloping horse should be on it's inside lead when travelling around a turn? Thanks.

Lead refers to the foreleg of the horse which is the most forward when cantering or galloping, not the first leg to hit the ground. Infact, when galloping the last leg to hit the ground will be the leg that is most forward.

Oh, and yes, the lead leg should be the inside leg on a turn.

Correct! To the second bit.
