Hey guys,

I don't know whether this is a problem I should be worried about or not. Help muh appreciated! Posted yesterday, cold hosed this afternoon and put a cooling gel on after.

She's 10 and isn't lame! There are two lumps on the left fore leg that i'm not sure if is normal or not

Please advise on whether I should be concerned or am I just being paranoid!

Thanksss

right. Thanks guys, if it is windgalls, should I e doing something about it? Like I read that it might be a sign of an underlying problem. Should I get ut checked out? Thanks

x

If they are kind of squidgy then they are windgalls. If they are hard and hot then I would get the vet out for possible Suspensory Ligament damage. If you pick up the leg and squeeze all the way down the tendon, including the enlargened area, the horse should not react. If they react, like they are saying Ow, then there is a problem there.

If they are windgalls then they should be no bother at all, just a little unsightly.

if they have only just come up and they are hot or causing lameness then you might want to get them checked. But bare in mind that it has been fairly dry the last few days and i dont know about you but the ground is very hard down here in the south and concussion on hard ground/roads is a main cause for windgalls.

Thanks China,

Here in the midlands, it has been rather dry and ground hard too.. maybe that's why she has them! I know many have said it is not a real cause for concern but is therer any way these Windgalls would go away? it's like i'm a paranoid/constant worry wart!

Thanks again guys x
