Turned cob out this morning, he shot off then shot back, too terrified to go past a wheelbarrow! Said wheelbarrow has been in his field for months. After him tearing round I took pity on him and moved it a few feet, perfectly OK then!

Why is there a wheelbarrow in his field?

B managed to get into an accident with a wheelbarrow a few years ago on Christmas Eve and sliced through the main vein on his off hind. Cue lots of blood, get visit, huge bandage and that week cost £400 in vet fees for visits, bandaging, removing staples etc.

On that basis (and because he is damn accident prone) I won't leave them anywhere that he can get to them!

He's got Delayedcobspookitis. A condition mostly affecting our sturdy friends.

Cobs spook, it just takes them longer to register that an object could be worth a reaction and only then if the grazing is sparse. Thus, it could take days or weeks to get the appropriate flight response.

Or maybe his forelock had been blown out of his eyes this morning giving him his first glimpse of the wheelbarrow.:D
