I've done the same re: girth.. It was my first day of going to a hunt on my new horse. We were trotting down a very steep hill and someone shouted to me my girth was very lose.. How I stayed on I have no idea!

Our Shetland has no wither at all, which means that if he puts his head down and his girth is even slightly loose his saddle slips it goes right forward onto his neck.

D3 has the distinction of having managed to successfully complete a 3/4 mile gallop whilst sitting on his ears :)

Was in a rush tacked horse up, went to get on from my rock/mounting block pulled stirrup down noticed I hadn't attached the girth straps on my 5 pound breastplate, told myself off, went to thread it through and realised I hadn't even put his girth on :D :D.......finially got on and was thinking "oh my heads cold"........yes I'd also forgotten to put my hat on.....:D

I am so glad it's not just me that has special days :D
