IDx - what are they like?

My (lighter bay in pics) is thought to be a TB x ID, he's a right character! He's almost human in fact, he loves a fuss and will chase the others off if he thinks they're getting more fuss than him, he's a laid back chap, a bit spooky when fresh and quite nappy also but not dangerously so. He has a habit of chewing everything (think he was a dog in past life!), you cannot leave ANYTHING lying around and if I drag his leadrope along the floor he will follow it! He's rather dominant in the field and will try it on with humans too! He's a lovely chap though and great fun to have around...he is affectionately known on our yard as 'the vandal'!

gosh mine also chews anything within reach! he is fab though and would def recommend them. been an absolute pleasure sincei brought him as a 4yo last year, takes everthing in his stride and yes can be a bit spooky but never says no to anything so long as he feels me support him. they have to have a bit about them if you;re going to compete but they make greta allrounders. have tio say he's one of the most vocall horses i know, always whinnies to anyone in the yard.

Fabulous, I love them. Never met a nasty one. Mine is a id x tb gelding, he's very laid back, not a bad bone in his body. Seen him kick out once in two years, when girl on him smacked him in canter when she shouldn't have, and it was the most pathetic kick I've ever seen. He can be a bit ignorant to the leg, but with a good rider he can easily do afiiliated dressage well, he's bold xc, and has a stylish jump on him, excels at working hunters!

One of the best x breeds ever, I have one (in my siggy) he is 17.1hh and a perfect gent, easy to ride, well mannered ok he bites but thats HIS thing not a breed thing. I can do anything with him and know I can trust him.
He's also a good jumper with a lot of stamina and a good turn of foot although he's not going to win any races!! heh xx

Well Sid (in my sig) is one - by a TB our of an ID - absolute superstar....but extremely clever & wiley in his own way (as in will try it on if he thinks he can get away with it...)

Having said that I wouldn't be without him - but it's very hard to make a complete generalisation about an IDx especially if you don't know what the x is!
