I think those coloured bars are so you can tell at a glance where the same horse crops up more than once on a pedigree.

My older mare is by a TB, Nearly-a-nose (by Cox's Ridge and out of a Bold Lad mare) and out of a IDxConnemara mare by Seacrest (so Cruising is her uncle). She had a foal last year by ID Grange Bouncer.

My younger mare's sire is Greenacres Diamond who's by Flagmount Diamond, who's by King Of Diamonds and her dam is by John Henry, who's also by King of Diamonds, making KoD her greatgrandsire on both sides!

My gelding hasn't got his breeding registered but he's by Robertstown Boy out an ID mare.

Our TB x ID (deceased) was by Timahoe Heather apparently a very old ID bloodline out of a TB mare (sadly,cant remember her name)

Our ID youngster was by Huntingfield Proud Tim ID by (Timahoe Heather) out of a Lennox mare (ID)

Our other ID/TB was by Knockboy Hero out of a TB mare ( whos' name also elude me)

Truly the most wonderful of horses. Temperament and talent, great allrounders and look fabulous too!
