Can you tell me if they match up to any experiences? Vet is seeing horse in the next week.

Sound on a straight line in walk and trot but drops left hind on a turn

Is off in trot under saddle, feels like walking on toes and lifting hips up if that makes sense?

Canter is the preference over trot

Very stiff when first starting out but gets easier as he works in but still preference is canter.

When walking in from feild noticed he walks a bit like a duck.

Brain is yelling anything from arthritis to suspensory problems. Horse is in 20s so no insurance but if needed will be looked at.

Thankies

A few questions.....

Is this a sudden onset of these symptoms are have they been worsening over time?

Is he kept in or out?

Are they worse if he is in all the time or out all the time?

How much work has he been in?

It's slowly getting worse over the last three months, rest makes it better.

Is he kept in or out?

Out in day in at night, has had lami before so us on five hours grazing at the moment (the last two weeks) as has put on a scary a mount of weight because I can't work him right

Are they worse if he is in all the time or out all the time?

It's same if he is in stable or out at feild, was sore coming in tonight

How much work has he been in?

Normally six days a week hacking for an hour but the last three months he has had some rests and when feeling better back to walk work then when introducing trot he does again

Its interesting that its better with rest but he was sore coming in tonight having been in the field for 5 hours, but that generally it is easier after a bit of work. I think I am inclined more towards arthritis rather than suspensory problems as it sounds like its a chronic issue really.

Thank you. Physio did mention last year he had clickly hips, might be that it's catching up with him :(

Sorry, but the symptoms could be caused by a number of different issues that present like this, and having them listed will only drive you round in circles looking from one scenario to another.
Get a proper diagnosis first (if possible) and be realistic about treatment options if you can.
Best wishes that it is something simple.
