If I was in the market for an arab

Replies sent!;):D

Avonbrook, see you at the convention, am bringing 'the girls'. Clutha is by Khairho, out of Sherfah, who was bred at Imperial (by Hanif out of his half sister, double Sirella), & her daughter, Arian Dawn, by Indian Idyll.

Here's an interesting bit of information that was posted on AL recently.
FEI endurance horses need to carry a minimum of 75kgs (just under 12 stone)
Hi
I have competed in an FEI ride, and I weigh 8 stone. You are weighed carrying all your tack, and I only needed to carry an extra 8kg lead. We underestimate how much our tack and clothes weigh, and at 13 stone the horse would need to be able to carry at least another 3 stone. There are some pretty hefty type arabs out there with good bone, and their smooth paces make for a much more comfortable ride if you are suffering from an kind of back pain. But strong and tough as they are to their environment and workload they are not invincible. My advice to the OP is to go for a native cross Arab, not welsh cross as they can be more hot headed that a pure bred arab, but a Connemara or New Forest is a good cross if you can find one the right size for you - good luck in your search. If you find a good one they will work their heart out for you!

My podium doesn't weigh anyway near as much as your saddle, it's really light. Friend I and national champ was so light she had her saddle built with weights in so horse always worked at Fei limit to build necessary muscle and stamina. I could hardly lift her saddle.
