Its been a right week.

My horse is losing the sight in his right eye, so am trying to forget about it and carry on as normal, easier said than done.

He is clearly not happy about being saddled, major ears back and face pulling, esp when girth done up (but when on board no issues with doing girth etc). Saddler said saddle fits, I even have a gel lite pad with it. I guess I could call the back lady out again. But apart from OH riding nothing in my neds life has really changed.

My saddle is driving me nuts cos my horse pulls me forward and the saddle helps him! Really want a dressage saddle.

I am worried my OH is too heavy for my horse - so may try and find him his own ned, which he wont be happy about. My horse is 16.2hh IDxTB. I'd prefer him on something a bit chunkier.

Sorry - needed to vent.

Feel like I am constantly going round in circles at the moment, with zero steps forward and 800 zillion backwards.

Work is also rubbish.

I need a G&T.

Hiya
Just thought I would reply and say hope it all looks a bit better soon!! Having met you and your OH I wouldn't say he is too heavy for a 16.2 ISh in general, my OH used to ride my mare who is 16.1hh and a lightweight WB, and they were fine (he is 6' and weighed about 14 stone at the time). But it does obviously depend on the horse, and he felt much more comfortable once he had his mare who was 16.3hh and a real chunky monster.
And I'm sure the problems with the saddle will be fixable....do you mind me asking who you use? It might bne worth getting a second opinion - I had a problem with a saddle once, saddler kept telling me it was fine, ended up getting another saddler out (who is very highly regarded in our area) and he said he doubted it ever fitted her properly!

OH is 14stone... and my ned leans more towards the TB side of a ISH so is a LW MW if you know what I mean!

Will PM you about the sadddle.

PS the JWTA is working a treat!

I know what you mean. Feel like the whole world is conspiring against me too. Too many non horsey problems to list!!! As for OH on a 16.2 lw/mw I don't think it would be a problem. My OH weighs a fair bit more than that and regularly rode my old 16.1 ISH tb type and never had any problems. Despite being a novice he was well balanced though. But if you just want your horse too yourself than feel free to tell him we all said he was too big (hee hee). I know how it feels to have your horse swiped by OH.

I may just do that!

OH has been on a diet and he now weighs 13.5st - so he is obv keen to keep in the saddle.

I weigh quite a bit less than OH.

OH is pretty balanced in trot and the canter is coming.

Horses and men - lethal combination!
