If only I had the land..

Faracat!!!

I have been looking at that little mule for weeks, he's only about 6 miles away from me. Can't though. Just can't. My Welsh colt and my 3 other horses are more than enough right now.

I may be losing my Cushings boy this year... and the mule is the same age as my Welshie so would be good company... and I LOVE little mules... but I have no transport, and should be cutting down numbers rather than collecting, and I MUST NOT have him...

Faracat, we must live pretty close then. Do you do anything with the Vyrnwy Valley Riding Club?

I don't have anything that is sound and backed at the moment, but give me time. :) If the grey goes well I might join next year (Vyrnwy is probably my closest RC) as my friend is moving her horse closer and she wants us to go to comps together.

*Eeeek*

I should warn you... my grey is special, so if a an idiot with a bossy grey arab joins - that's probably me! ;)

Oh don't worry. I did 3 things with them last year, on my beautifully schooled (before I had him) been there, done that ex-riding school boy.

(Have to say that since I lost my horse of a lifetime last year I have had serious confidence issues on anything else, even someone as good as Leo)

I forgot the test in our first walk and trot test. Was reminded by the judge, promptly went wrong again, and retired gracefully.

Second walk and trot test - learned the US version. Had to have it called. Still went wrong, but finished the test.

Clear round jumping, approx. 6 inches - warmed up for ages, panicking that Leo was going to "do something". Bless him, he was just so excited to be out. Ended up saying I couldn't do it, blubbing because I felt so bad for Leo who was raring to go. A nice lady who breaks and schools took him round for me and he was perfect. Wish I could ride like her! Got on myself, did 2 jumps, Leo had a low key rodeo moment down the long side. I apparently ended in a position that looked like I was riding a lowrider chop. Or doing a star jump. Or something.

I gathered myself together, did 2 more jumps, then retired before the double. Remember these jumps were about 6 inches max... :p

I think I may have you beaten on the "Most Speshul Competitor" at least. lol

I would fit right in! :D

The last comp I did with my chestnut was interesting - I didn't even do the warm up jump because she just reared and reared and reared. I just hung on and decided that she got too wound up at shows and decided to never take her to one again as she's always been a bit 'electric' at them. On a positive note, she did stop rearing eventually and I was able to dismount. ;)
