Would you say 'oh, it's a bit small' if one of them was 14.1hh????? Ponies only go up to 14.2hh after all! Can't believe how many people actually see a picture and go 'oh, too small'. Well don't ring up then! It's a PONY! Even funnier when they come to see it and go 'is that really 14.1hh, I thought it would be bigger!' - well let's see, it measures 14.1hh on the measuring tape, and on a normal tape measure, so yes, it is 14.1hh!!!!!!!

there are lots of very odd people out there. I advertised for a sharer and got a few decent responses but then also, having stated that I wanted an experienced lightweight over 18, got a girl emailing me with terrible spelling and grammar asking where the yard was (googlemaps?!) and telling me that she's 14 and has been riding for 2 years...

I'm too polite to just not reply but I was sorely tempted at this point. Maybe people are desperate to find exactly what they want and so prepared to try their luck with other ones that clearly aren't right?!

Was it a slim 14.1? I ask because we've a skinny 13.2 on whom my 5ft 2, long leg 11 year old looks far too big, and a 14.1 chunky NF where my daughter looks as though she could grow another 6 inches or more and still not be too big - yet the NF is actually only 3 inches taller than the other, the remaining 3 inches of her leg is 'lost' in his width.

I was sick of advertising my mare. she was 16.2 18years, NOT A NOVICE RIDE, not to be jumped and no under 18's. All i got was kids emailing asking to come see her!!
A woman called up once and i said she could come down. She brought her daughter who seemed a nice girl (but under 18 ) and they decided to take her 3 days a week. I only ask for 15/week towards her keep. After knowing she wasnt to be jumped the kid jumper her and she went lame!! I wasnt impressed. the woman called me 2 weeks later (she hadnt payed me since she went lame) and said "we wont be paying towards the keep of the horse until she ridable again" I couldnt believe it i asked her what she would do if it was her own horse and she was paying for it and she just replyed "i wouldnt be paying livery on it until i could ride it again, afterall thats all me and my daughter wants to do" I couldnt help but laugh and told her not to bother coming back!!

Thats just one of my stories i have plenty and needles to say i wouldnt loan out again

We advertised a 14.2hh welsh d, lady comes to see him and says 'he's not as big as i thought' ?? He was a big chunky boy and just measured in, what did she expect?

ah maybe I can explain it... having watched some junior bs the other day some of them seemed huge... now mine measured 147.2 for bsja ... he would pale into smallness against a couple of them!

advertised my boy 16.3hh DWB HACK ONLY no jumping very very 4ward going so need confident rider on loan due 2 pregnancy

i got these

txt message in txt speak - basically asking if she could take him on uni livery (working) i said no h needed 1 2 1 and he was hack only, as told he would be in a 5* facility in the collage and only jumped once a week did i mention im in Kent her collage in Blackpool?

had one ask this " i know he cant jump but can he hunt?" i was like erm no

See I would say did you mention the build? And he may be a differant shape than she was expecting if he has high withers he may look deceptively small, low head carriage etc. Also does he ride small had 17.2 that rode like an 12.2 and visa versa.
Would just ignore the comment its not all about size after all!
