If the market is so bad, why can't we find a horse?? Maddening!

I loaned out what sounds like your friend's perfect horse last year. I did not advertise him; he went to someone my vet knew.
As well as trawling the ads I would put the word out that she is looking for this type among all your horsey contacts- fellow riders , feed shop, farrier, tack shop etc.
 
Unfortunately what she describes is 'the perfect horse' - and these will have a price to match. I got offered £4500 for my mare who wasn't even for sale as she simply does what it says on the tin.

There are lots and lots of project horses for very little money but an 'average' safe horse can sell for the same as something going out doing low level eventing.
