If there were no such thing as horses - what would you be doing?

I'd be driving around in my sports car, pulling up to my 4 bedroomed perfectly clean house. Walking around in clean, good quality clothes and maybe even be wearing some make up!!!

BUT I'd be bored, lonely and very very unhappy. So I'll keep my expensive, time wasting boys and smile every single day because of them. :D

.. sailing ..

as an aside, believe it or not horses are cheaper than boats, provide fewer and much briefer life-threatening moments and even riding in the rain for an hour is easy-peasy and actually pleasurable, compared to a 12 hour channel crossing on a small boat dodging ferries, tankers and HSF ...

Well said. I would like to add that I would have nice tidy hair, long nails, non horsey friends and of course I woulld have time to cook proper meals for my family.
I would also have more kids  so thank god for horses!!!!!!:D:D:D

Nobody fancy the camel then as a replacement?

got that t-shirt already ;)

ETA - by golly - i really have lost weight :eek::eek:

I'd probably be up mountains instead, I love hill walking and if there were no horses may well have got more serious about it. I'm not brave enough for proper rock climbing though. I do love that feeling when you get back from a seriously challenging hike, especially in cold weather.

My poor mother is in two minds as to which is more dangerous...... her family like to worry her, between two horsey daughters and brothers who climb and cycle.....

I'd like to travel more but if I didn't have horses I'd probably be so fat I'd have to be removed from my house by the firebrigade, I'm a very greedy & lazy.
Having animals keeps me busy so I can't spend my live stuffing my face & watching re-runs of Friends.

I'd be constantly going on holidays to Barbados, Dubai and Spain etc, shopping for lovely clothes every weekend instead of once a month(if that!) I'd get my hair cut and coloured much more often, and I'd get my nails done too....... but I think I'd get very very bored without horses!

If there were no horses I would be wearing a nice warm straight jacket whilst sitting in a padded room.

I would be a proper mother instead of 'that one whos always in muddy wellies'
I would paint more dogs, and farm landscapes
My house would resemble a family home instead of a midden.
My dogs would be well behaved.
I would be richer, fat, and bored!
:D

If there were no horses, I would have had:-

A better relationship with my father.

A better relationship with my ex- hubby.

Nothing whatsoever in common with my daughter!

A home of my own - could never afford a mortgage with livery to pay

A serious career - horses always came first, last and in the middle, although I had time to study, work was always a means to an end, to pay livery and finance the horses.

But then I' d be fat as well, as I am a foodie, and its only horse work that keeps me slim enough!

All the smelly jodhpurs and sports bras in my wardrobe would be replaced by pretty dresses and lingerie, but I'd be too fat to wear them and would probably still be too depressed/agoraphobic to go out and enjoy all my spare cash!
