I think I'll wait for the DVD. I don't cry at films where humans get hurt - ever. But when animals are involved I'm an emotional wreck. I know some of the people I work with want to go and see it, but I think I'll have an excuse ready. I'm not letting my hard-faced guard down to work colleagues!

I think it's funny how differently we react to animal vs human suffering/death in movies.

Human death, either: "HAHA!" Or "Oh that's a shame" or "Oh, he was my favourite character :("

Cat death: Poor kitty!!

Dog death: How dare they?! Poor little thing :'( how could they kill off a poor little doggie?!

Horse death:...there are just no words.

I'm quite nervous! I've never cried in the cinema before!

Well I have to go see the film now because the lead horsie actor is a horse called Finder whom I used to gallop. Can't link a pic at the moment because my main computer is down. Will try later.

^^^^Hahaha!! This made me laugh.... My thoughts exactly!!!

I was bad enough watching the WH theatre production, I'd lost my old horse a couple of months previous and cried from the moment Joey the foal came on until the end!

I'm pretty bad whatever the animal. In books or film. If anyone has read Zola's 'Theresa Raquin', you may remember the part where a cat is thrown out of a window and breaks its back. Zola writes that 'he writhed in agony for days before dying'. I couldn't read anymore of the book for days.

I also cried at Girl Interrupted, where Wynona's character's friend hangs herself. Not because of the hanging, but the cat is trying to get into the bathroom where she did it and the body is weighted against the door.

Maybe I should avoid the trailer, nevermind the film!!
