If you had up to £5K to spend on transport?

Having enjoyed today I'd really like to get my own transport so that we can get to other meets as well as this one that we hacked to.

If you had up to 5K to spend on transport would you buy a box or a landrover and trailer? Could I do it for that sort of sum?

its doable, definately, but it depends what you would be carrying, and how far you would be travelling.

Definitely a land rover and trailer. A box at that price may well need some work and is likely to need more regular upkeep than a newer one. Also a box tends to be much more expensive to run each yr than a trailer and L rover!

Box every time - would far rather buy an older mechanically sound lorry (hopefully) than trailer

box you can get a ford transit with ifor on top for that easy

dont forget upkeep of a bloody expensive discovery will ammount up if its being used for more than just towing its hardly a "runaround"

i would say landie and trailer as a box for £5K you're going to have larger running cost than, on a towing car.
Plus don't forgot that it's not good for lorries just to sit around doing very lower milage, where as with our towing vehicle will get used plus they can cope better with low milage
