If you run out of hay....

i am well aware of that thanks!! upon talking to reps the feed prices will go quite high this year, but lots of companies are already preparing to import cereals etc, the beet crop hasn't been too bad and beet is often overlooked as a fibre source.

readigrass always runs out by march in a good year!! i have a nice little stock pile of oat straw, ideal for my fattie natives fill them up and keeps them satisfied, but lo-cal!! i have odd looks from other liveries but at least mine can eat, they all have excellent teeth so thats not an issue either c'mon have you seen what our natives eat if left to their own devices??!!

We're all beginning to panic here. YO hasn't been able to make any hay this year yet and supplies are running low. My two are out most of the time, but in this weather you just can't leave them out. Also, the paddocks are just so waterlogged - you need a dinghy to get over them!! Winter is going to be a complete nightmare at this rate.

Am worried, in my area our biggest supplier hasn't even done their first cut yet and have run out of all their existing stores of hay. My boys are out at the mo and aren't even getting hard feed just there horselyx and carrots. Am planning to use graze on and hay mix or straw if it comes to it as my youngster can't have haylage. It is very worrying. I've have never had to think about where I'm getting my hay from before and I now have no where to stockpile it.
