If you think jockeys don't care - please read!!

A very lovely piece written by a very lovely young lad.

As for other jockeys - Timmy Murphy now has Comply Or Die at home with him and regularly hunts him. He felt he owed it to the horse for winning him the National.

Frankie Dettori still has the last winner of his Magnificent 7 living the life of luxury at his home.

Fabulously written story. Patrick is a lovely guy. The saying "it's outside the back door" is a real Irish phrase and very very true.

I heard the 'outside the back door' phrase for the first time when I read the Ruby Walsh autobiography - had never come across it until then!

beautifully written.... and it made me cry.

According to Pete was a local horse, and by all accounts Pete Nelson is utterly devastated by the loss of his horse this year, and I think any of us who've ever owned horses can imagine how he feels...

So nice to hear this, I think its lovely :)

I heard of this the other day and am so glad that you posted the link so I could read it too. It is heartfelt writing.

I still have a lump in my throat at the deaths of Synchronised and According to Pete. I keep remembering the owner's daughter, who was close to tears even before the race and couldn't bear to watch, preferring the solitude of the Ladies toilet.

I gave my boys an extra hug last Saturday.

" If you can draw out a depth of feeling in someone who is not connected to the subject, yet still manage to evoke similar emotions as if they were known to each other, then you have a rare gift"

Someone said this to me the other day in regard to a written piece. I think it encapsulates just what the jockey has written and as such has touched me, deeply.

A beautiful tribute from a beautiful heart. RIP Dooneys and bless your heart Patrick Mullins. And now I`m going to cry :(
