Just for a bit of fun to kick off a saturday night :)

If you were a horse, being sold, what would your description read in the advertisement? Feel free to include pictures as to what you'd imagine you'd look like too! Use your imagination; what height, breed, colour would you be?

Mine would be:

5yo chestnut mare for sale, 15.1hh, unknown breeding. (Possibly came from another planet) Good natured mare but seems to have her dizzy moments. Energetic and fun. Loves to jump but hates dressage: BORING!

Must go to owner with a good sense of humour as she can have her weird/quirky moments.

Welsh Section A! Loves to be out and about and is a great PC pony - enjoys cuddles and food, easy to manage and never sick or sorry. Good home only :p

Well now my add would read.



Slightly overweight aged mare, kind hearted honest and loyal. Lame on off hind, damaged navicular bone.

Previous injury to shoulder and back issues. Would make a perfect companion or light to moderate work only.

Put in hard work despite injures will try her best and work till she drops.:)

Sounds like we have quite a few red heads on this thread(mine not natural)

Sensitive mare, very bold jumper and likes to go fast. Is fizzy and not a novice ride and can be prone to unexplained meltdowns! Very loving though! Doesn't kick or bite unless hungry and loses weight like the drop of a hat.

Small and sturdy chestnut hairy cob mare. Paddock ornament home only as slightly lame and very lazy. Needs individual turnout as bad tempered and quirky, very mareish. Good doer....very good doer :o
 
I don't think they'd bother trying to sell me. Straight to the meat man for me!

Failing that: "Lazy, aggressive cob, needs strong, competent handler, who doesn't mind being outwitted or subjected to mental torture. Good doer. Very destructive. Likes children, but shouldn't eat a whole one (high laminitis risk!)"
 
17hh cobby mare, not very fast, can't jump very well, nervous if on her own. Would much rather graze in a field all day! But loves cuddles and will look after her rider! :D
 
Aged broodmare. Has bred 6 quality foals. Sold as a companion, or light hacking only, due to back issues. 15hh, unknown breeding. Needs sedating for dentist, otherwise good to do. Very good doer, lives in or out. No time wasters please, first to see will buy, stunning girl blah blah blah :)
Mild sweet itch, no known vices ( that she'd admit to anyway!)
 
Good do-er. Aged and Unfit due to lack of work but will cope with short hacks at a leisurely pace. Can be stubborn and needs experienced owner. Not good with children. No reasonable offer refused.
 
16hh brown cob gelding, very, very, very good doer. Needs lots of work or will go crazy but when in lots of work well behaved, although has bad back and tendon problems so companion home only!! ;) :rolleyes:

Cantankerous 14hh cob mare. built for comfort not speed, lives in or out, in company or alone. Not for nervous/novice rider as can be stubborn
 
15h bay mare. Lovely to handle but likes to be the boss. Chronic lameness, had previous hock operations, but only affects when in full work. Doesnt like to travel or live out overnight. Must be kept in a good routine to avoid stressy outbursts. However will work hard and give all she has for you, extremely loyal and dependable. A great project for someone.
 
Bay TB Mare.
Sensitive with spindly legs, poor doer, must live in with loads of blankets. Hates the rain and the cold.
Needs sympathetic experienced handler as sometimes reactive. Honest, kind and when the chips are down deceptively tough and brave!
 
Stocky 13hh cob, mood swing can and will knock you out. Enjoys flying round a jumping course when in the mood. Can be lazy, wild frizzy mane that goes everywhere but would go to the end of te earth to look after rider .
 
Schoolmistress light bay with flaxen mane and tail. Prone to weight gain so restricted grazing required.

Bags of ability but requires confident rider to bring out the potential. Probably never be a world beater but very capable on a local scale.

Tendency to occasional lameness
But ok for light hacking even when lame as purely mechanical.

Can be a little lazy but generally forward thinking. Between sizes rug-wise.

Mild copd and has been known to wind suck occasionally
 
16hh bay mare, TB never raced as too slow, looks like she is built for speed but is not, more suited for long distance riding a lovely honest mare to discover new places with, easy to keep fit and keep sound, not novice ride as can be mareish, prefers to live out in all but the worst of weathers-happily hacks alone or with others, good in traffic but has been known to kick out at rude drivers
 
Chunky 14.2hh, lives on fresh air, has soundness issues and had spinal surgery. Happy to be kept on own or in company. Good in traffic, box, farrier, vaccinations up to date inc flu and tet. Needs sympathetic owner with a no nonsense attitude, definitely not open to cuddles. Price negotiable.
 
13hh fell pony, affectionate, will stand for hours for a groom, will tolerate a companion as long as they aren't a bully, will mug for a mint. Forward going but likes to plod too, quirky sense of humour but not dangerous, loves kids and tries her best. Health wise due to having four foals (including one atffoot) she isn't that great to look at under her fur, her mane is a wreck due to previous neglect, butshe is a kind pony who will love you back. £550 o.n.o. no timewasters, she's been let down in the past...great thread :)
 
16hh brown thoroughbred mare, aged. Has enjoyed competitive career with mixed results, now looking for easier life. Various lumps and bumps, back issues, companion or light hacking home only. Needs comfy stable at night.
 
16 hh mare. Has several lameness issue but insists on full work, in fact is sounder if kept in work
Good doer with wonderful nature. Good even for a complete novice
 
6yo, 15.1 bay mare. Loves to jump but still green. Needs an confident rider to bring iut the best in her, sweet but is quite mareish!
Can become lame in hind left hock, must be stabled at night. Fussy eater and is to be kept on shavings. Pulls faces and will wind you up but youll learn to love it:p
 
12.2 lightweight competition pony. Can be marish and not a novice ride. Competed when younger and was fast against the clock but has since had a couple of foals so would need bringing back into work. Does not want any more foals. Ever.

16hh palomino (or dun, not fussy!), unknown breed but thought to be TB x something, fun and forward going, loves to jump and is fast against the clock, adores XC and fun rides. Can produce a good dressage test but isn't the biggest fan of flatwork, and will become nappy if asked to do too much of the same thing. Thrives on regular work and needs to be kept busy, loves going to pony parties but would not be suitable for a novice as she has a tendency to become over-excited in new situations or when around others. Would suit low level competition home / riding club home, as has lots of potential and the right attitude, but will have a meltdown at the slightest hint of pressure and doesn't cope well with stressful situations so needs an understanding rider. Can be spooky to hack alone but fine in company. Very fussy eater, must be kept in overnight and wear a fly rug in summer as very allergic to bites. Will stand for hours to be pampered and loves cuddles, however does need sedating for dental visits and doesn't have the best patience for farrier visits as gets bored if not fed appropriate amounts of treats and likits. Can take a while to gain her trust, but once you have it she will try her heart out for you.
