to spend purely on horsey things, what would you buy?

I'd buy -

so minus £10k by the time i'd got him & all the stuff I need

http://www.equi-trek.com/space.html
Equi trek space trekka, to try & coerce myself into getting the horsies out & about

That's £16k out the budget

and all this bumph -

& anything else that takes my fancy, about £17k out the budget

What the hell, with the change i'd buy this little mare aswell -

& still have some left over to pay for a few weeks of intensive teaching!!!

YOU DO YOURS!
(it's the weekend)

I would buy a 9yr old eventer that had been to at least intermediate successfully, I reckon I could get one just within budget

I'd sell my 4yo and then spend 15K on an event schoolmistress and 15K on a horsebox and anything left over would go towards posh saddles!

A confidence giving pony of about 13/14hh capable of showing to County level & above & can turn it's hand to a bit if everything. I'm a happy hacker but wouldn't mind trying my hand at showing.

A small box.

A made to measure saddle with matching snaffle bridle & double bridle.

Some made to measure leather long boots.

That's about £13,000 gone already. Ish.

The rest I'd see what else took my eye.

I'd also get S kitted out in made to measure tack as well & spoil her a bit

I'd pay for my mum's pony to have an MRI scan and the best veterinary treatment available to try and get him sound.

I'd buy my sister a nice little event horse for about 15k to go out and have fun with.

I'd spend 2k on a 6 month stint at a rehab yard for my horse as it really helped him last time and we couldn't afford for him to stay there any longer.

And the rest I would spend on renting our own little yard somewhere near home where the horses could live with plenty of grass and a field shelter.

I'd buy a made to measure saddle for the little ginger pony, buy Fudge a show bridle, myself the tweed jacket I like but can't afford at £250.

I'd buy Jasper

and spend the rest on lessons and going out and about.

Put my beast in foal to a liver chestnut stally (welsh of course!)
Something newly broken/ready to break to bring on.
Something for OH and I to ride as well.

Uhm...lots of rugs!!!!
Oh and saddles that FIT

Learn to drive and get a self drive horsebox. Buy a few luxuries for my two lads, a few of the higher priced horse rugs like Fal etc. A 'named' bridle for each. Splash out on a massage for them both and perhaps a trip to a pool for them both or a similar treat.
I would dearly love to have another horse though but as I am on DIY livery and have to pay for each stable as oppose to my own grazing etc then it would be near high impossible to achieve that on a 25k budget, especially after buying the above.

I'd buy a top showjumper, a spotty one if I could get it, and have my friend (experienced SJ) jump it.

I'd love to be the proud owner watching the action.

Any change would go into savings to get a trailer when I'm old enough to insure it and a 4x4.

I'd rebuild my yard as an barn with beautiful internal boxes a wash area, a 60X40 school, a solarium and equine pool, walker, xc fences and gallops. Who am I kidding thats got to be more like 250,000K

I would pay off my student loans and credit card

credit card debt could JUST about stretch as being a horsey expenditure... lol...
but student loans don't fit the brief!!!

I'd buy a saddle and bridle for as yet unbroken 4yo, a Defender 90 and a secondhand trailer.
I wouldn't buy any more horses as I've already got too many with three of them - and I'm happy with them...
Oh, and I might buy them a movable field shelter....then I'd be stuck as I'd have the best part of £15k left....

I'd buy a horsebox and I think I'd be pretty much at the limit! With the left over money I'd probably have just about enough to get to and enter one BE event!! (make them cheaper dammit!!)

I'd.... I'd....I'd buy some really nice clothes, (say 3k) a nice set of tack just for showing F, (? say 5k) a round pen (2k) several holidays to Spain to see my instructor and I'd use the rest on something that would to bribe a vet or farrier to marry me!!
grin.gif

I'd buy a 3 horse box and a horse for my OH that was steady enough for him to learn on but had the ommph to compete aswell......

I would pay off come of my mortgage so that I could retire earlier .... I already have a moveable Field Shelter, Shils and this has been the bestest ever ever thing that I bought for my two

... even though TB does not respect his half
