I am thinking of doing this towards the end of the year for 1/2 weeks with new horse and just wanted some people's thoughts and ideas as to where they would happily spend there money!

Thanks

Sister just spent a week with Emily Lochore at Burnham Market and found it amazing and very very helpful. They really focussed on her dressage and SJ as Reg is pretty bold XC although very inexperienced.

dressage would be Serena Pincus.

eventing- not so sure but very possibly the new instructor i had my first lesson with today who was fab! :)

New horse?! spill....

And i would definatley go to Robin Dumas - hes absoloutley great... not much of a people person but such an amazing trainer and they have fantastic faccilities.. big XC course, full set of SJ's on grass, 20x60 floodlit arent with jumps and portable XC fences, 5 horse walker etc etc.. type in 'rosamund green farm' to google and his website comes up :) x

Rodney Powell. He is incredible at making a big impression in a short time.

Tom McEwen is his protege- check out his results (or watch the way he rides- almost identical!) Very impressive jockey....

He always leaves you with masses to think about- I always used to go there for a couple of weeks before the start of the season and before a CCI. (very good at polishing).

Hes not afraid to experiment with bits etc, if he thinks something else might be better, and has got great facilities for practicing. As a junior I also found it fascinating seeing the way his yard is run (IMPECCABLE turnout and attention to detail) and he only usually has roughly 10 horses, so lots of time to concentrate on you.

The real bonus is though, If you catch his eye, he will really take an interest. Hes at all the big CCIs and is very generous with his time with helping in the warmup etc.

This is all said from the perspective of a former junior (now young rider) which I think is important. Good Luck.

P.s make sure you are prepared to really put in some hard work and take it seriously though, otherwise he can get very frustrated!!!!
