If your horse is only fit for light work- Does it bother you?

Steroids worked for us short term but they obviously carry the risk of lami also. I used them as a very last resort but we had no problems just huge benefits on them. They are also expensive.
Weight was also a problem for us. I bought Equine America (i sound like a walking advert for this company! I swear im not!) Airways plus powder and adden it to literally a handful of hifi lite. Also used to smear vasaline round her nostrils (catches pollen particles before they are inhaled) Umm, Eucalyptus oil mixed in baby oil rubbed down his gullet area.
Will keep thinking!

And another thing having another horse is NOT unfaithful its a kind thoughtfull thing to do. I found my daughter something else to ride to take the pressure of and allow poorly pony time. You have put your old horse first x

Thats was the thing weighing up the cost, benefits, downsides & stress but he hates vets & he'd not far short of kill me trying to squirt an inhaler up his nose so I've made my priority to keep him comfy then make up for lost time over winter as he loves being ridden & jumped :) Thank you for the suggestion I'll order some of that then & do then same around when the pollen is supposed to be bad or its hot, sure it'll help him alot! I tried vaseline & I ended up with more on me than him lol! Will give the eucalyptus a go too!

Thank you so much for saying that its made me feel a bit better about it :) I just feel awful because he stands & watches me taking the other one from the field & hacking off down the lane with it, I'm sure he's wondering what hes done wrong. I just wish he would understand! He still gets his treats & fusses daily & brought in almost every other day for a groom & chill. I've just got to stop feeling detached from my new one now lol! Horrible situation but both them & me will get used to it :)
