Hi there, can anyone help

My Ifor 505 Trailer is about 11 years old it is the green hunter version, so doesnt have the old wooden sides but the more modern ones, ( if you see what i mean), We have had it for about 7 years, it is regularly used and serviced. have just put in a new Aluminium floor in January. but the roof is leaking when it rains, I have tried scraping off the old mastic on all the roof joints inside and resealing with new stuff, but still getting rain running in. is there anything I can get to paint on top of the roof on the outside to reseal it or any other suggestions on how to get it waterproof again? ?? thanks for reading!

Why don't you get a price from a IFW dealer ? These trailers have a certain amount of flexion, so maybe they will use a different product ?

You can get a rubbery roof sealent in a paintpot which you paint on and it dries like rubber. Only thing is it is black so won't look too pretty unless its right on top where you can't se it. I used it to seal holes/cracks in a fiberglass roof. Can't remember what its calle but I got it in the roofing dept at B & Q

There is a product called Captain Tolley's creeping crack cure. (yes really) which is aimed at caravans mainly I think. It was very good for sorting out my leaking landrover, and might work here. http://www.captaintolley.com/

Having a similar problem on my IW 505 which is a bit older than yours, the main suspect places are round the "sunroof"; where the front roof section joins the back bit, which is a clear sealant rather like what goes round the bath; and then finally the bit where you fix the partition in the middle.

thank you pennyj, that is very helpful, will take a look, strangely enough the sunroof bit doest appear to leak it seems to be the seams (joins) on the roof which have the problem, i expect i need to get up on top of the trailer with a ladder or something and take a proper good look in case can paint some sort of sealant on there?

Our 510 does this too. you need to look at the joins and bolt holes for leaks. Don't take it to a main dealer - it will be more. Any local garage that services trailers will be able to do it cheaper (ours does) if you can't do it yourself.
