I'm one of the unlucky owners of a Ifor 511 trailer with mould on the internal roof. Having had it cleaned which was a complete waste of time because the mould has come back, Ifor are now trying to persuade me to have the roof 'painted'. Please can any one tell me if anyone else has accepted this treatment and has it worked? I'm very sceptical of going ahead as I feel it is just masking the problem and not solving it. Thanks in anticipation!

Thank you for your reply. Can I ask you, do you know if it was brushed on or sprayed and did it look like a professional job? I'm worried it will look really naf and devalue the trailer (not that it could be any more worthless than it is now).

I don't know how it was done but it looks fine (my friends are very fussy people). You wouldn't know it wasn't straight from the factory.
In my experience IW take customer services very seriously - like when the wooden floors of their older models started to rot (age related) they provided new Aluminium floors for the same price as a wooden one. Then there's their policy of not providing major spares like partitions unless the serial number of the trailer is provided so they can check that it isn't for a stolen trailer etc.

I refused to have mine painted & so have had the roof panel replaced - it had to go back to the factory in wales to be done so whilst it was there they also replaced the gas struts on both ramps which were rusting. After having mine washed & the mould coming back I just didn't trust having it painted.

There was a lady on here who actually got a full refund so that's always an option if you push hard enough.

Good luck!
