I got one when I bought my trailer but have to say hardly ever use it. It sits in the nose of the trailer - it has racks for 2 saddles and a drawer for boots/grooming kit etc. The reason I don't use mine is that I have to detach it and wheel it in and out every time I want to unload my horse or its quite heavy and too much of a tight squeeze to get through my horse through the side ramp with it in position. It might be better in the bigger Ifors though??? I'm sending it off with my trailer when I trade it in for my wagon in a week or so's time - its like new its been used so little.
I don't know sorry but if it did you would probably have to get someone to put some clips onto the trailer to attach the bungee cord to to stop it from moving around. Ifors have this in as standerd but I wouldn't know about a Rice.
Each to their own but I disagree that they are a pain. We have a 505 & a 510, both with tack lockers. You do have to unload them before unloading the horse, but their on wheels and it takes all of 10 seconds. I find it really handy that we can roll the tack locker into the tackroom, load it up then load it into the trailer. Then reverse at the other end. Nothing gets lost or buried under clothes, food, general stuff in the boot and it frees up space in the boot for other things.
Hi
I had one, but my saddle did not fit in it (a GP Bates saddle) found it a pain, even though I aways back my horses out of the trailer, ended up using it just to store my grooming kit and first aid kit in it, but like eriskaypony, each to their own, you might find you love it,
ended selling mine before I came to Spain (bought my trailer with me)
I have had mine for nearly two years and most of that it has sat in the tack room.
I dug it out at the weekend after having nowhere to put my saddle after dressage on the saturday and when I took some friends to a sponsored ride on the sunday as I didn't have enough room in the car, due to also having the dogs with me, and wow.... it made a huge difference. it was a little tricky to get the saddles in, but once I had that figured out it was brilliant..... it now lives where it is supposed to. I was glad to have it
Warning! If you leave it in the trailer unattended, lock it and lock it to the trailer, I know several people who have gone to do classes, come back and it has been snaffled! You can't trust anyone.
