The spec says that an IW 501 can take up to two 16.2hh horses.

Does anyone use one for a 16.2hh? Is there much headroom? Not worried about weight, just space.

Thanks

Do you mean 505? That is suitable for a 16.2hh, but no bigger. If you go for a 510 that fits two 17hh (the whole thing is much bigger ie. width, length, height). If you google 'Ifor Williams 505 dimensions' it will come up with all the measurement you need. We carried a 16.2hh in one for years, but he was a 'compact' 16.2hh.

my boy has travelled in a 505 - hes a big 16.3 - its a squish length ways (he knows to tuck his bum in!!!) but hes also travelled in the longer version 505and thats fine. His ears are up near the roof but hes a fab traveller so doesnt bother him.I wouldnt say its ideal tho.

We have had Bertha (16.2) and Oshk in ours- TBH I think the problem is more length ways than height wise, it is for us anyway.

My 16.1 was unwilling to load into a friend's 505 (which should take 16.2) but is much happier now I have my own 510. Go bigger !
