I have an IWT505 on loan at the moment. I need to replace the jockey wheel / tyre after a small mishap (whoops). Can anyone tell me what size I need as there is no manual? I would like to replace it before it goes back to the dealer. Thanks in advance

Jockey wheels are fairly standard sizes, and you can really tell by looking at them which one you need, you need to go to IW for the right type if you want a seemless replace tho.

They're ll retty standard. Easiest would be to take it to a dealer and they'll do it for about £30, inc fitting, which can be a real faff without the tools, esp if it's old and a bit rusty.

Best to get the proper Ifor Williams one as they do vary. Also, is a it a total write off? I always keep the broken ones as they can sometimes be used for spares. (Yes, we all do it!). Assuming you've driven off with the wheel down and the tube is not too badly bent, I've straightened them with a couple of heavy blows with a sledge hammer but it doesn't always work.

If you get one mail order, turn the handle on the damaged one anti clockwise until it becomes disengaged from the lower half. The top bit then lifts off but the bottom one has to come out downwards so the draw bar is best left still attached to the vehicle.

Reassemble by applying the same procedure in reverse (as the manuals put it!). We males do have our uses sometimes!:D

Thank you so much for your replies. It seems I need to 'fess up to the dealer and tell them what a numpty I've been so they can replace it. It's very early days for me towing, so expensive lesson learned :o

The more towing you do, the more bent jockey wheels you will have in the shed!:D Everyone does it!
