Ifor Williams 505 specs

Does anybody know the history of the 505, when the partitions changed etc? I know they used to have H-partitions, then the butterfly style with (not sure how to describe) the openings at front and rear where the breech bars hook into the partition itself, then the solid butterfly partition where the breech bars hook onto the track attached to the partition.

I’m trying to source a partition for my 2007 trailer but have no idea which of the butterfly styles will fit. I know the newer solid style butterfly partition will fit but I can’t find any of them secondhand. I’ve found the other butterfly style relatively locally but I don’t want to travel and buy something that isn’t going to fit because then I’m back to square one with the hassle of trying to resell.

Trailer is currently in for service plus new panel so I won’t have it back in time to take with me

Ifor are incredibly helpful with things like this. Send them an email or telephone them.

Didn't the partitions change colour as well? The older types having the same colour partition as the trailer, the newer types are white.

Ifor and Barlows trailers are very helpful with parts. You will probably need to quote the serial number of the trailer.

Im not sure whereabouts you are based but C&G Trailers in Essex have lots of 2nd hand Ifor parts because they totally strip down & renew/revamp/recondition old trailers - their on facebook

Thanks everyone. Trailer service guy has spoken to someone at Ifor Williams for me and confirmed the partition will fit my trailer so I’ll be collecting it on Saturday
