I'm looking to buy an ifor williams 505, classic. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the payload is? We have 2 16hh horses, mostly will be travelling one, but sometimes two.

Just need to check that your car can safely and legally tow that weight.

The payload is the maximum gross weight minus the unladen weight, so for the 505 it is 2340kg - 905kg = 1435kg.

Unless both your horses are extremely chunky you should be fine to carry both, but as said above you need a decent tow vehicle if you want to tow two.

The tow vehicle is a Nissan Navara with a max of 3 ton so should be fine. The horses are Irish Sports horses, not chunky, but both weighing in at just over 600kg. I would tow just the one most often but sometimes both.
