I am looking to buy a new 510 or 511 and not sure which to go for. The 510 is coming in cheaper due to the new 511 coming out but am not sure if it is worth the extra money. Does anyone have either trailer, or had both, and could advise anything?? Thanks!

Always go for the biggest you can afford when it comes to trailers. But it would be dangerous to get a 510 for a 9 hand tiny who could go under the bars.

Depends on size of horse and what you can afford. If horsey will comfortably fit into a 510 go for that. If horsey would find that a bit of a squeeze go for the 511. Hope this helps.

I went for a new 506 as it was a new upgraded model, lighter inside and a general upgrade from the previous model. I also liked the fact that the sides are now plastic and I do not have to worry about them in the new box when it starts to age (had replaced the ones in my previous box). It is up to yourself but there was a £500 extra in the price although we felt when we went to change later down the line you would probably get a proportion of this back. Go and have a look at the boxes yourself and see which one you prefer and which one your horse prefer to travel in.

PS - hb6 510 and 511 is the wider box.

I've just sold my 510 for a 511 and love it! The jockey door is bigger which is a bonus!! Really pleased with it!

i would definately go for the 506 or 511, apart from the extra space, the ramp opens on the left now as oposed to the right on the 505 510, which is useful in emergancies i'e having to unload on the roadside!

Ive saw the 511 for the first time the other day, its lovely. I think it is much better than the 510 inside. I do however like the old 510 better from the outside, cant say why though, suppose it looks more robust. If I was buying a new trailer I would go for the newest model though.

i just bought a 505 classic instead of the 506 - i like it better. i think the new ones looks a bit plasticy. nice that you can choose which side you have the front ramp though.

We have a 505 (black classic) and have just bought a matching 510 (black classic) for our bigger lads as well. Discussed it with our dealer who pointed out that the 511 has the same chassis and suspension as the 510 and all the critical running gear is the same. There are fewer seams in the 511 body so potentially less opportunity for leaks, but then the 510 has a proven record. From our perspective there was no functional reason to go for the 511 and we like the 510 anyway, and it was a full £800 less than a 511.
