As title really.

I'm looking into which trailer to purchase to travel my arabian mare to shows in. Some shows are a few hours away, so I want something sturdy and comfortable.

I'm looking at the 506 as IW has quite a good reputation. But I haven't heard much about the new model, other than there were issues with the early ones that have now been resolved.

Many Thanks

I have the new Ifor Williams trailer. The new trailers are always an improvement on the previous model. My horse travels ten times better in the new one as she has a tendency to be claustraphobic. The new one is lighter inside and has more windows and easier to tow.

Go and have a look yourself and make your mind up. I have had a few issues with mine but mine was one of the very first ones but the issues are mainly cosmetic and are currently being resolved.

Yes. We have the older version, but I replied because we had it fixed the other day and had a chat with the guy as to whether it was worth replacing it.

The guy who fixes trailers commercially said that the Ifor williams are the most stable ones around. They will have a number of cosmetic issues, as JANA_NI said above when the model first comes out (eg. my trailer is not sealed very well so the rubber edges on the doors tends to fall off). However, they are your best bet of getting your horse from a to b year in year out.

Oh and the more regularly you use a trailer the better!

I recently towed one and it was really nice. They are full height so very airy and horse travelled well in it and emerged the other side of a 70 mile (1.5 hr) journey completely fresh (usually bad traveller who sweats buckets).

Towed really well didnt feel it at all with a 556kg horse inside + tack. Easy to manoeuvre (managed to reverse it myself without the assistance of 100 people waving me in like the Equitrek). If my other horse wasnt so anti-IW (hence why I need an equitrek for him) I would definitely buy one.

I'm happy with my 511. It's worth it to me for peace of mind alone, and my horses like it
