Can you not put the trailer on axel stands?

Mine is used frequently and kept undercover, but we used to store our caravan on axel stands over winter to keep the weight off the tyres. That was supposed to help prevent cracking.

Are they perishing or splitting on the side walls???

Perishing..... keep tyres out of direct sunlight...

Splitting..... stop hitting kerbs

Could they have been at the wrong tyre pressure? I always kept my trailer outside and never had a problem with the tyres splitting. How old were the tyres as well? That could be a factor.

Scrap that.....actually, when I think about, I think we used to have some triangular yellow "wheel" things we put on it, taking the proper wheels off and storing them in the garage.
