Ifor williams trailers (and opinions on other makes)

[ QUOTE ]
don't like ifors because of the front unload ramp being on the right, stupid if you have to unload in an emergency on the road and can be difficult to get bigguns out

I've heard this arguement before. We have a 2004 model IW505 and I absolutely love it. I mentioned the above negatives to my OH and he looked at me like I was crazy! He said, if we needed to unload on the hardsholder of the road, we'd use the rear ramp if the front side exit wasn't safe and back the horses out. Got a point I suppose!

And he asked, how does having the front unload on the other side of the trailer make it any easier to unload a big horse? Surely which ever side the front ramp is situated the horse on that side will be slightly disadvantaged? No matter which side the ramp is on! And if the big horse issue is nothing to do with side the ramp is on and is more an issue of exiting - my trailer is huge at the front and I can clip the front of the central partition back to open up the whole front. Just cannot see how space exiting could be a problem?

we had a IWilliams but have now changed to a richardson supreme and i love it, it seems much better quality than IW and must smoother to tow always found IW's bumpy, would never go back. it very hard to find a second hand richardson though, seems to be loads of IW's
