Has anyone else received a recall letter from Ifor offering to "paint" over the mould issue?

Has any taken up this recall and are the results worthwhile.

My 506 went for the original recall even though at the time it didn't actually have any mould. Since then the mould has grown back even worse!!

Has anyone successfully had an exchange on these mouldy trailers? I'm not sure what to do. Whether to tkae up the recall offer or try and get a refund/ exchange.

Any views from other mouldy trailer owners would be much appreciated.

(Also have an issue with a sticky jockeys door, and dodgy light connections).

Exactly the same model and with exactly the same sticky-jockey-door issue. Ours also had problems with the jockey wheel, it never wound up properly. It's been sent back to the dealers to have the mould painted over, so can't really comment on that. But I remember seeing a post about this a while back, the mould apparently came back.

very recently about 2 weeks or so on here someone was having more problems with mould and other issues. Think they had to threaten legal action but they got a full refund.

Thanks Ester. I just can't see how "painting" over an issue would help except hide something which then potentially is causing more harm which you can't see.

Mine is getting so bad that everytime I clean it, there is a stain left behind so it is clearly causing some damage to the plastic. I've heard that all they are doing with the new ones, is painting them in the workshop when they are built = which doesn't sound like a great solution, hence why I'm not keen on getting an exhcange.
 
I have been called out to many 'new ' Ifor williams trailers with mould growing or other faults to do independant inspections.
At the end of the day The trailers come with 12 months warranty so you must take them up on the recall work.
If the faults can not be rectified then under the 'sale of goods act' they have to offer a suitable alternative, whether it is to replace the trailer or refund........
 
Thanks trailermedic. Don't suppose you know anything about this issue do you, and whether this second recall is actually going to work. I'm also concerned that they are trying to get the dealerships to do the "painting" with no training in how to apply it.
