Ignorance is bliss.....

Some great replies!! :p:)

I think it is probably that information is so much more accessible these days. When I was first learning to ride, the only people we had to compare ourselves against were our fellow riders, various instructors/WPs and then of course the 'gods' we saw at Olympia etc. These days it's very easy to log onto the internet and use youtube etc. And while I love HHO, some threads/posts do make you question your own abilities or whether you're doing something 'right'. Of course there are many different right ways of doing things, so it's important to remember that different isn't necessarily wrong.

Aarrghimpossiblepony - don't worry I am quite chilled really, especially now I have them at home and I can do all those evils things I do without anyone to see or correct me. ;) I still have 12 legs out in the field, whether they belong to the right horse or not, I'm not sure though. :p

Nah - glad Ned's ok. :)

I am still stuck in old Manual of Horsemanship and that era :o

I feed my horses straights, I feed according to work done, and by eye, I bring them into work slowly, I walk on the way home, I rug when they are cold or need it etc, etc.

Technology and information has come a long way, and by and large, to the benefit of everyone concerned, but I do think the choices/information available now are completely overwhelming and if you worry too much then it spoils horsekeeping.

I am terribly laid back about my horses, maybe too laid back, but I haven't killed one accidentally yet.
