Not sure if anyone can help me out but i bought an iguana for my boyfriend last year after him wanting one for years. He was very aggressive when we got him but seems to have mellowed a bit now.

Thing is we changed his viv as he outgrew it and he went very shy wouldn't come out only coming down now and again. My boyfriend does nothing with him i feed clean out etc.. He started coming down and taping on the glass to come out now and he comes out and runs around now. Thing is hes still quite hard to catch and destroys the place when he comes out. Doesnt bother me too much as it only really knocking plants, lamps etc over which are easily picked up.

Sorry for the lecture lol im really asking for advice on how to get him to come round to being picked up. He is about 4foot long now maybe bigger and very strong just finding it hard to handle him on my own. Really want to sell him but OH wont let me . I know he could have a more experienced home were he is more appreciated

Choc's for anyone who made it to the end

I handle iguanas at work and they can be very aggressive. That tail can be quite nasty when they want it to be and as you know, they get very big! The friendly ones have generally been handled a lot from a young age, so they only advice I can give you is to make sure he is handled as often as possible. Good luck x

Yep think im more scared of the tail than anything. I do as much as i can with him but hes really just not my type of pet and OH promised to do everything with him and just hasnt. Im starting to like him but feel he really would benefit with a more experienced home :(
