As some of you know I had an accident in February and broke my collar bone. I have been really, really poorly what with allergic reactions to medications, surgery, more allergic reactions, immune system at an all time low.
Anyway, after several attempts trying to get up to see my boy to do a bit of bonding and give him a good old groom and leaving totally dispondent because I couldn't even manage that, I gave it another go last night. To say I have come on leaps and bounds over the last week is an understatement and so last night was brilliant. I managed to sort out Archie's tail, giving it a good old wash and treatment, tidied his mane (ok it was with a solo comb) and gave his coat a bit of a rake cos he is moulting like crazy. I came home on a high.
I won't take things for granted again, like picking out his feet, removing the sleep from his eyes and generally making a fuss of him. A few weeks ago I couldn't do any of those things.
Riding has go to on hold for another couple of months until I see my consultant again but in the meantime I am going to enjoy him from the ground.
We had great fun with an umbrella a few days ago - I thought I would do a bit of de-sensitising so shall be planning a few more games etc - any ideas?
So for those of you crocked, there is light at the end of the tunnel but listen to what you body and insticts tell you and for those of you who are absolutely healthy and fine, appreciate every little thing - like sweeping the yard - it seems a chore, until you can't do it and wish you could!
