Is the horse nearest us standing towards us and looking to the left or away from us and looking to the right?

Towards photographer judging by muzzle and the way the ears are

I would say towards the photographer, I cant see it in the other direction (photo 1)

Photo 2 is harder, that one could be either!

In the 1st pic, judging by the nostril/muzzle positioning, I'd say its looking at the photographer.

First horse is looking towards the camera... angle of the ears I think.
Second horse is looking away and to the right over the fence.... the fact that the other horse is there it is more probable they were saying hi to each other.
My idea anyway, the more I look the more confused I get!
