I bought a shetland pony today, just because it's feet is criminal and and I don't know yet whether my farrier can fix him, at best he will become a companion pony, worst case senario he will be pts, A pure poppet, he canters across to say hello to our horses, on hooves usually seen on neglected donkeys. The problem is, he is owned by my landlord and I love where we live, he keeps saying the farrier is coming out, but never actually comes. A rock and a hard place comes to mind

Thanks, but until I know his feet are treatable I'm holding my breath, my OH doesn't know yet what he cost, he may need the famous HHO vibes, his feet are in a terrible state, but he is desperate for horsey company and is a real poppet

It's a shame some people don't take proper care of their animals, can we have a photo of him and his feet please? :)

It might take regular small trims but having seen some with aladdin slippers i am sure he will be fine. Well done you and thank you for taking charge and saving the wee lad. God bless.

My mums mare had Aladdin's slippers when we got her, she was tipped right back and walking on her heels and they were curled right over. Her feet are still prone to being a bit crappy but we've had her 14 years now :)

This little lads feet look as though they are collapsing as well as curling up, the good news is my landlord has asked me to arrange for my farrier to do the donkeys as well, just need my farrier to answer his messages
