I'm allowed another dog!

Blackcob, waddaya mean not as small as you used to be, there's nothing of you girl!

Just to chuck a spanner in the works, did I ever tell you about the time our old lab pulled a 6ft2 bloke over and dragged him halfway down a full size manege? Now there was a dog that could pull!:D

You know what I mean, me + backpack + water + steel-framed bike is not an inconsiderable weight. :p

Gazey, I can only imagine the pathetic, disdainful looks if I dared hook up an elegant skinnydog to anything so coarse as pulling me along a filthy woodland trail. :D Although the sleeping all day and no separation anxiety thing sounds wonderful... *dreams*

I am going to go with a leonberger.

Seriously - could a Leonburger pull at the rate of a husky without keeling over with heat etc? I agree they are lovely dogs but not my first choice as they are also very free with their dribble and a LOT of hair. Can't fault their characters though. If for whatever reason you did look at one, do check out the physical confirmation. A friend had a very well bred one but in normal vet checks turned out that the dog had a lot of physical issues..
