I'm worried that my mare really isn't 'into' our work at the moment. For a break from flatwork I thought I'd do some fun jumping with her but she's even more stuffy jumping than on the flat.
That results in me getting frustrated and upset with her and riding more aggresively.
That results in her getting even more pissed off with me and me feeling very guilty for being hard on her.
I've been worried about her and blubbing on and off since Wednesday.
I don't know if she doesn't like what we're doing of whether she's trying her best but I'm blocking her somehow and that is pissing her off.
We're off to do some jumping practice next weekend so I may ask my instructor to have a sit on her to see if she's saying "can't"or "won't" and whether the problem is her or me.
Went for a hack yesterday and she didn't seem interested in that either.
I just can't stop beating myself up about it and worrying about what to do for the best.
Waaaaa! I just want her to enjoy her work and work with me rather than resist.
Saddles were checked and reflocked last week.
I can't see any obvious signs of pain - although she does sometimes look round at her tummy when she's really fed up - I can't work out if she's in discomfort or whether its an evasion tactic.

Have you thought about teeth or back? My friends mare was similar they did bloods and found she was suffering from a virus which was making her a bit off in her work.

Vet is due out to do follow up blood tests in a month - I may ask if she can give her a full once over then.
Blood tests are for liver function - she showed high results a few months back, never showed any physical symptoms and her levels have come down on their own with no need for medication. Vet said it's nothing to worry about as she wasn't showing any symptoms.
